Safeguarding
It is everyone’s business and responsibility
Everyone in Falconhurst School has a duty to help keep children and young people safe by providing a safe environment, identifying children who are suffering or likely to suffer significant harm and taking appropriate action.
The school’s Child Protection policy and suite of policies designed to safeguard our children can be obtained through the School Office or on the policy section .
Safeguarding
…is the action we take to promote the welfare of children and protect them from harm and it is everybody’s responsibility.
Everyone who comes into contact with children and families has a role to play.
Child Protection
…is part of safeguarding and promoting welfare. It refers to the activity that is undertaken to protect specific children who are suffering, or are likely to suffer significant harm.
We have a team of Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSL) at Falconhurst and there is always one present on school site during the school day. The Safeguarding Leads are overseen by Louise Aird in her capacity as Headteacher and Primary DSL. The other DSLs are Matthew Nash (Assistant Headteacher) and Natalie Matthews (Learning Mentor) Our work in safeguarding children is informed and supported by the MK Together, the Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) and the Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO). Information about each of these can be found in the accompanying Child Protection Policy.
Should you ever have a concern about the safety or welfare of a child, you can either speak directly to a member of staff in school, email us securely on safeguarding@falconhurstschool.co.uk or seek advice from services such as the MASH team (01908 253169) and NSPCC (0808 800 5000).
